Friday Favorites: it's a busy week!

Usually I'm excited for Fridays because they mean that down time is just around the corner. However that is not the case this Friday! Today just leads to more busy - ah! This weekend is crazy packed and this week in general was just wild! As I'm approaching finals and the end of the skating season there seem to be a million things that need my attention. As much as I love being busy, I am anticipating needing some major down time after this weekend because I am an introvert at heart!

1. When I was on Spring Break, I picked up Everyday by David Levithan from Target. I've heard mixed reviews about it but it was on major sale so I figured I would give it a try. I was sucked in right away. I have loved every minute of this book. It is so thought provoking and it really challenges my definitions of gender, love and personhood. I am in the last 30 pages and I am so scared to finish it - I don't want to end and I'm thinking it's not going to end how I want it to end!
2. My family loved watching Gilmore Girls together so much that we decided to start another show! New Girl is our new Gilmore Girls and we are loving it! It is definitely lighter than Gilmore Girls but it still has so many great moments! Many of the episodes have us all in stitches! I love so much about this show, but I have to say - I love Schmidt most! He is such an interesting/hilarious character!

3. My skating students have their end of year showcase this weekend and I can't wait for it to all come together! Even though the bulk my work is done come show time, I still get jittery! I am so excited about the little routines I put together this year but I'm always anxious to see how they look at the show. I am also anticipating looking forward to next year's season! Within the week after the show is always when I put the most work into planning for next year. I update all of the evaluation materials and make a game plan based on this year's results! I love that this ending brings such excitement for new beginnings!
4. My dad took this picture on International Women's Day. It was freezing cold that day but he was determined to find some shells and get this picture done! I love how this picture turned out and I love that I have a dad that is so excited about celebrating women! Last year, I dedicated a whole post to International Women's Day and this year, I completely forgot about it until Hannah sent me a quick text wishing me a Happy International Women's Day! I am so proud to be woman, especially right now and I love that there is a day dedicated to celebrating women! When I got Hannah's text, I had a great idea for a post to share on International Women's Day and I'm kind of bummed to wait a whole year to share it! But stay tuned! A post celebrating women is in the works!
5. I know I have talked about Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir about 653 times in the last month and I can't promise that I'm going to stop anytime soon! I've gone to Stars on ice a couple times before and I am so excited to go again this year!! I loved watching all of the Canadian figure skaters in the Olympics and I can't wait to see them live in just about a month and a half! I'm going with my friend, Erica and I just know we will have a blast! I will be sure to take a lot of pictures!
