Friday Favorites: Goodbye Beach & Hello August

It's time for another edition of Friday Favorites around here and where I'm usually happy as can be to see Friday come around, this Friday makes me kind of sad. This is our last beach day and then it's back to life, back to reality. We are packing this last day with all of the beach fun and then we head home tomorrow. I'm so excited to sleep in my own bead, but leaving the beach always makes me a little bummed. I'm off to make the most of my last beach day, but first, favorites!

1. We hit up Starbucks on one of our shopping excursions this week. I am still loving the pink drink! I'm sure I will eventually move on and try something else, but I still can't get enough of this fruity treat! Yes, I could talk about the pink drink all day long, but I really wanted to talk about my dad's silly drink order! We have been watching (and loving!) Jane the Virgin and my dad's favorite character is Rogelio. He loves giving different names at Starbucks and while he usually goes for a name that is easy to spell, this time he told them his name was Rogelio!
2. This is our family friend Maxim's back. For real. And no, it was not a prank. He asked for a smiley face on his back and his mama happily obliged! I don't know if I could pull off a smiley face sun tan but Maxi wears it well!

3. Years ago, my mom bought these fake tickets to prank people with. I think we had three or four in the package and we had used them all except for one! The first few didn't work. The people we fake ticketed didn't even flinch. We brought the last ticket on vacation to put on our friend's car and we got them! They fell for it! But once they got over the initial shock, they knew exactly who did it! Apparently we are not so stealthy with our pranking.
4. On Tuesday, I shared a little about how we meal plan at the beach and I talked about these waffles. But I completely left out the important info you might need if you are looking to get these same waffles! They are made by Van's. We found them in the organic/specialty food section of the grocery store. They're gluten free, but they're also free of many other common allergens, like egg, dairy and nuts! These make such a perfect morning treat, and you could never tell they aren't just regular waffles!
5. This year, I did some major damage at Old Navy while shopping. I'm typically more of a Gap girl, but I've been really loving Old Navy's stuff lately! They're workout gear is always great, but they are really crushing it in the everyday wear too! I picked up this shirt; it's a pretty plain white tee but the ruffle detailing around the arm dresses up the shirt a little! I got the shirt in white, but I'm regretting not getting it in every color they have! It's going to be all ruffle sleeves all the time as we transition from summer to fall!

  1. How fun is your dad?? I love that idea to give out different names at Starbucks... too funny. We are at the beach as well, we leave Monday. Always bittersweet, but I think it's the perfect goodbye to summer. Have a great weekend!
