Friday Favorites: Goodbye June

I cannot believe June is coming to a close! July brings so much fun around here! We have Canada Day, my friend, Hannah comes home from Poland, a wedding, my birthday, vacation!! I have always said that July is my favorite month of the year and this July does not disappoint! Ah but I'm getting ahead of myself because this last week of June was so good! Here are some of the highlights...

1. These are a couple pictures that my cousin, Andrew has sent me after trying recipes I've shared on my blog! So cool! Don't these two meals look amazing? He totally crushes it every time! He always messages me when he tries one of my recipes and I just love hearing about how it turns out and seeing the pictures! This week he made 2 of my favorite things - Quinoa & Feta Stuffed Tomatoes and Loaded Taco Sweet Potato Sliders! It is so encouraging to know that my blog is helping out with meal planning!
2. I've been working a lot on hand lettering lately. I got these brush pens for Christmas a year and a half ago and I was kind of overwhelmed by them at first! I love handwriting and pens but hand lettering was so intimidating! I watched a couple videos and followed some Pinterest tutorials to figure out some basics. Now, I've just been working on writing different words. I typically just look up positive words and write them. I figured if I'm going to write words, I might as well write positive ones. Sometimes, I love it and sometimes I write one word and am ready to throw in the towel but it has been a fun little project this summer!
3. On Wednesday, I shared a recipe for coconut milk cinnamon ice cream (it's dairy free & refined sugar free!). If you are on the look out for a fun summer ice cream recipe, this might just be for you! It's easy to put together and it is so delicious! I blogged all about this ice cream on Wednesday and I forgot to mention that the end product doesn't taste like coconut at all! In fact, my Dad took a bit and said "I wish it tasted more like coconut!" So if you aren't a big fan of coconut, not to worry! You can find the recipe HERE.
4. And since we're speaking of ice cream - especially cinnamon ice cream! I have been loving this So Delicious Cashew Ice Cream lately! I have tried a couple different flavors, but my favorite by far is the cinnamon cookie dough! I can't get enough!
5. Look at the weather forecast this weekend in Montreal! What in the world? That is hot, hot, HOT! Apparently it's going to feel like 46 degrees on Sunday (that's in Celsius! It would be 114 in Fahrenheit!). I don't know if I can hang in that kind of weather! We rarely get these kind of temperatures in Montreal! Sometimes, we get mid-high 30s but we rarely get in the 40s!
