Poppy ♥

We got a puppy!! You know that scene in elf where Buddy runs in to the meeting and yells "I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!" That has been me lately about our newest addition! I've been literally telling everyone I know how excited I am about this dog. And guess what? She is even more perfect than I could have hoped!
Last Friday, We drove to a little town near Toronto to pick up our girl and we are all pretty smitten. I am so beyond excited to introduce you to Poppy!

There was a lot of back and forth about her name. My Mom was super easy going about the name, but the Bean, my Dad and I all had big opinions about her name. Ultimately we decided on Poppy. We picked her up on Remembrance weekend Day so Poppy just seemed to fit. And now that we have had her for a couple of days, it just suits her so perfectly.

When we first met with the breeder and sent in an application to get one of her puppies, we had applied for a male. Because of this, we spent our summer debating names for a male dog. We were not quick to come a decision but ultimately decided on the name Colby. Well on September 1st, when we found the litter was born, we learned that there was only one boy and he was spoken for. I was jumping for joy in our kitchen at the thought of having a girl dog and it happened - we got our girl! We considered keeping the name Colby for her, but there was something a little more 'sticky' about Poppy. Poppy just seemed to fit.
Many of my friends have texted me to ask how Poppy is doing and my answer is always the same - she is a literal angel. And, she is. She is so gentle and sweet. More recently her little personality has started to come out and it is just precious. She is sassy as can be sometimes but always angelic. We are so appreciating all of her clumsy and wobbly puppy love.
Happy Tuesday!
