Usually Friday means a little bit of down time, but this weekend is wild! I have had something in the works for weeks now (really, months!) and it is finally coming together this weekend, so I'll be able to talk about it all next week! This week has been the week of me needing to be in a million different places at once. I've been running a little wild trying to keep up with it all, but I am so happy to be sitting down to recap my favorites today!
1. While I was on vacation, I read Girl Wash your Face by Rachel Hollis. I had heard so much hype about that book and I could not wait to get my hands on it! One of the things I really loved about the book is Rachel's narrating voice. She is so encouraging and she urges readers to try new things, to become comfortable in the uncomfortable. She said she goes to a Hip Hop class every week and has never felt more out of place in her life. I laughed out loud at that part because that is me every Monday night! During the summer, I go to Hip Hop with the Bean and while it really does push me out of my comfort zone, it is so much fun to try something new!
2. On Tuesday, I had lunch with a friend and she gave me this little single serving of guac - ha! She knows I have major love for guac and she thought this was perfect for me! I've never seen guac for one before, but I love guacamole in any form!
3. Did you catch my blueberry picking recap? We had so much fun picking all the blueberries on Saturday, and I talked all about it HERE. If you are looking for a fun family activity, I highly recommend berry picking! It is such a fun alternative to traditional apple picking! We had an interest years ago, looked up a picking spot near us and tried it out! We look forward to going every year and we always leave with the yummiest blueberries!
4. I've gone back and forth on whether or not to share this, but ultimately I decided it's something I really want to remember, so I'm sharing. Tuesday would have been my Poppa's 80th birthday! The sad part of this is that my Poppa isn't here to celebrate his birthday anymore but I love that we celebrate him every year on his special day. My Poppa's favorite cake was Dairy Queen cake so we used to celebrate with that but since we no longer eat ice cream, we had a vegan cheesecake! I didn't know what to expect but it was SO good! It was so nice to have a quiet moment of remembering in this busy week.
5. Let's talk about my to-do list for a second. A couple of weeks ago I wrote a to do list (because I strive with lists in hand) but it got so long & overwhelming that I crumpled it up. I mean, that is not the productive way to approach a to-do list, I know! But with summer coming to an end, I just want to relish in every last minute. I don't want to live off a list. As the reality of summer's end is setting in, I'm realizing that to-do list is necessary. So it's back to the drawing board! I'm trying to keep it simple while also keeping track of everything that needs to get done in the next couple of weeks!

I still need to get my hands on that book. Everyone has raved about it. We love blueberry picking! Have a great weekend at your event.
