This is the first week of Fall and despite how darn hot it still is outside, I am in full Fall mode! This is going to be the week of the Pumpkin on my blog - today, I'm talking about how I make Pumpkin Pie Spice. Tomorrow, I'm sharing my Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate Recipe and on Thursday, I'm sharing a delicious recipe for Pumpkin Muffins with a cinnamon sugar on top!
I looked around at a few different blogs until I decided how I would make my Pumpkin Pie Spice. Every recipe is a little bit different but they all rely on the same staple ingredients! Here is how I make Pumpkin Pie Spice...
In a small mixing bowl, I combine 3 Tablespoons of cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, 2 teaspoons of Nutmeg, 1 1/2 teaspoons of all-spice and 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cloves.
I mix everything together and then it's ready to use! I doubled the recipe above and I store my Pumpkin Pie Spice in a small glass jar with all of my other spices. I love that I can just grab the jar when I need it instead of having to make new several times throughout the Fall!
PUMPKIN PIE SPICE
ingredients
3 Tablespoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoons all spice
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
directions
1. Combine the spices in a small mixing bowl until well combined.
2. Store in an air tight container and use as needed.
I used this Pumpkin Pie Spice in both of the other recipes that I'll be sharing this week and I think I'll use it again and again during the Fall!
See you tomorrow with more Pumpkin Spice!
