Friday Favorites: Hello February :)

Happy February, friends! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog today! I'm into my last two weeks of classes before student teaching and I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! It feels like I'm drowning in work this week, but the end is in sight and I am really looking forward to starting student teaching! I love sharing my favorite things every Friday, and I am so happy to be sitting down to share today! Let's get to it!

1. I talked these up BIG time and I finally shared the recipe! The recipe went up yesterday and I highly, highly recommend checking it out. These cookies are easy to make and they are a healthier option to the traditional thin mints - they are gluten free, vegan and refined sugar free. If you are looking for a fun allergen friendly dessert, this it totally for you! You can find the recipe HERE.
2. My family has been loving watching TV shows together and our latest venture is Brooklyn Nine-Nine. We are about halfway through season two and we are a little obsessed. There are so many great funny moments and we adore the characters! Scully always cracks me up, but my absolute favorite character is Amy! My family watched a couple shows while I was out last night and I'm catching up while I'm writing this post - it's too funny!
3. I had the longest day ever on Wednesday - I was out of the house at 7:00am and back home at 11:00pm. Yes, that's 17 hours out of the house and as a total homebody, I was not feeling it! I had a full day of classes then I had to go see a play in town for one of my classes. The play was a hard watch too - it was about Residential schools in Canada. Incredibly important to our history but just heartbreaking to watch. I was so happy to get home and go to bead last night!
4. This evening, I have a couple friends coming over to make these sweet potato sliders (recipe HERE). We're planning to make these sliders then have chocolate fondue for dessert - yes ma'am! That is my kind of girls' night! I'm so excited to have a little girl time and maybe watch an old movie!
5. Have you seen this commercial? One of my teachers showed it this week and I was so moved by it. It sparked such a great discussion among my classmates. I think the message is so pertinent and so important. i love that Gilette is doing this!

  1. I'm so excited about the Thin Mint Recipe you posted. I'm allergic to dairy, eggs and wheat and it's so hard finding dessert recipes that taste like normal food!
